To celebrate 65 years of creating happy memories, we’ve been collecting photos and stories of generations playing at Fairytale Town from 1959 to 2024!
From Ashtyn A: I have two photos here. The first is Ashtyn A. in 1987 on the Hare and the second is her daughter, Eloise A., in 2018 on the same Hare at the same age. We have so many good memories at FairyTale Town. I couldn’t wait to recreate some with my own daughter.

From Nancy C.: In 1990, Alan C. served as interim manager of Fairytale Town, "on loan" from the Sacramento Public Library. He was working this day at an event (perhaps Winnie the Pooh day?) and I brought the kids. Aaron was 4 and Sarah was 4 months old.
From Peggy C.: Fairytale town was a huge part of my childhood...it as such a privilege to be able to take my own granddaughter and share the same experiences with her. Thank You Fairytale Town! Happy 60th Anniversary!!
From Betsy C.: My parents loved taking me to Fairytale Town as a child & I could NOT not take my daughter. Just so happens that the rabbit is still there! A little skinnier & a different color, so, I decided to take a picture of my daughter & I on it for memories.
From Vik C.: Memories of my girls as they grow up.
From Mychaelyn D.: Bree is ready for her adventure!
From Ashley F.: May 2018 is when we got our first membership so we have tried to go as often as possible. This was Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday and this time he got to go with his two best buds. They were so excited. Crafts and fun memories got made that day!
From Olivia G.: Growing up, I was lucky to have a group of friends held together by our 5 moms. These 5 women regularly took a large group of kids (their own plus, often, friends) all over our area on day trips. Fairytale Town was always one of our favorites!
From Jessica G.: Our first baby boy we grew up going here and wanted to continue taking our kids here
From Kali H.: My kids are the 3rd generation of kids in our family to enjoy Fairytale Town. First my mom with my grandparents, then me and my parents, and now my kids. Even though they are getting on the older side, we love meeting our friends there who have young kids! I still remember my birthday party there over 30 years ago! The fun of walking the Crooked Mile “alone” for the first time, and the excitement and fear of sending your little one alone the first time! So many smiles! Thank you!
From Amber H.: Ashley and Cory in Sherwood Forest!
From Susan H.: Growing up in Fairytale Town
From Kyla I.: When my husband and I were thinking about places to take our engagement photos, I knew I wanted a fairytale backdrop to signify our "happily ever after." I could think of no better place that had fun fairytale-themed settings and was a place that inspired so many fond childhood memories as a Sacramento kid.
Our photographer Lezlie S. captured my dream photo shoot.
From Kevin J.: My daughter, Emerald, was and still is a HUGE fan of cheese - her favorite thing to eat. When we first came to Fairytale Town, the cheese was the very first thing she actually requested a picture with.
From Mary K.: I was around 8 when I took tap dance lessons at the McKinley Park Club House through Parks & Recreation. We got to perform at Fairytale Town! Here I am on the right standing on the Candlestick with a classmate.
I've always loved Fairytale Town. I now enjoy going with my grandchildren. (Photo from around 1964.)
From Alice L.: My brothers and I grew up in Sacramento and going to Fairytale Town was our Disneyland! The owl slide was as scary as the Matterhorn to us. (Photo from 1961)

From Natalie L.: My brother and I spent almost every birthday at Fairytale town until we were 10. It’s so comforting and exciting to know that it will be there to share with our children and the next generation. (Photos from 1990 and 1995.)

From Rachel Q.: We took a trip to Fairytale Town during Winter Wonderland.
From Corinne R.: I was about 2 years old here. I grew up coming to Fairytale Town and Land Park and have many fond memories of this area. My own young children have grown up coming here as well. It's great to see so many of the attractions have not changed much!
From Mary R.: Red slide daughter Trinity L. in 2018. White slide her mom Sara R. around 1990. They are Second and third generation of Fairytale Town visitors. Grandmother Mary and my brother Ed and friends played there too when Fairytale Town was New!

From Christina S.: I have been coming to Fairytale Town since it first opened. It was a favorite destination when I stayed my Grandparents. And today I brought our Granddaughter for her first visit. I wanted her to know how much fun we could have together!
From Patty S.: My family and our family friends would come play at Fairytale Town as much as possible. It was one of my happiest memories growing up.
From Lynda T.: These pics are of my cousins and I at Fairytale Town in 1962 (I am in the center hole in the cheese). We have been going since it opened and have taken several generations of kids to enjoy the fun. I was 10 years old here, and since that time I have taken my nephew, my grandniece, and now my great grandniece to Fairytale Town. It is so nice to be able to go someplace where you can remember going as a kid and take others who enjoy it as much as you did. We often get several families together and take all the kids. I have never know a kid who didn't enjoy this place. (Photos from 1962.)

From Sally V.: During the summer I would take my two nieces (Rachael and Kristin) and my nephew (Keith) to Fairytale Town. I would try and get them to do funny faces in my pictures. (Photos from 1969 - 1972.)
